Christmas Party Rally - Claughton Memorial Hall November 27tt-29th 2009
We had 16 vans on this rally which was run by the Committee and the evening entertainment by Alan and Ann Simms. Friday Evening it was quite late when we all met in the Hall allowing for everyone to get settled and then come in and have a game of Free Bingo, which was enjoyed by everyone.
Saturday Afternnoon we had the Childrens Party what a good time they had, they had fun and games with DJ Graham and then the entertainer arrived 'Andy Mcgee', which kept everyone on their toes including the adults, very good entertainer. Then the children had there tea and then we had a visitor Father Christmas he'd come a long way especially for our children, as he is still busy making toys, the children where delighted with all their presants,
Saturday evening arrived and it was time for Alan and Ann to do their stuff, first of all we had wine tasting with a difference we had to guess the ingredients of the wine, we had clue's, but i didn't have a clue! Then we had Mr and Mrs with balloons, funny how the people that won weren't even married, see we think we know our husbands, but perhaps we don't.
We then had play your cards right, we had £60 in the kitty it was won by Karen, Andy, Kay, Dave,Mel and Carl, well done, again.
Then we had entertainment with 'The Bradshaws' ie Alan and Ann with help from Lauren, very good!!, then we had Dancing Joe, ( Ann), she did Micheal Jackson brilliantly, and lots of other entertainers, bet she was well out of puff, but very well done, Alan and Ann so much hard work had gone into the show. A very good evening with different entertainment, something so different.
Sunday morning and coffee and raffle, time for home, another good Christmas Party enjoyed by all the happy campers. Hope to see you all New Years Rally, if not have a Happy Christmas and a Happy New Year. Sheila

|
|
A welcome return to Windy Harbour a full facility site, and to the nice
weather we had. The rally this week-end was run by Steve and Julie with help from Bob and Christine, we had a lot come up from the Midlands, 2 from Jaguar, 1 Standard Triumph, 1 Fisher Ludlow, 3 Land Rover, 2 Longbridge, 8 Wolsley and 15 Leyland, nice to see a good rally attendance. The Midlander's had a long way to come so made the best of it with trips to the lights, into Blackpool and even a show Saturday night, hope it was all worth it. The weather was glorious Saturday sat outside in shorts on chairs you can't believe it, next week we'll all be huddled up over our fires, and digging our winter woollies out. The club was opened each evening with entertainment and Bingo, with a childrens room and Fish and Chip Shop, and a swimming pool so everyone was catered for.

Les and Martha Finch ran their first rally Well what a good rally, good company, something to do and somewhere to go AND good weather!!!!! We had a good turn out for the rally nice to see everyone again after summer holidays. Quiet night Friday, some people went into the pub for a quiet drink some sat outside catching up with friends, and some just had a leisurely rest in their vans, thats the beauty of rallying. Saturday a beauitiful day people went out for the day or went for a walk, and then in the evening quiet a few of us went into the pub for a meal, then we had the skittle alley to ourselves for skittles, everyone had a go it was Men against Women.

Holiday Rally - July 25th - 7th August - BUDE
Andy, Karen and the boys ran this rally and have written a report ---
Summer Holidays Rally Bude Caravan Park Marshals Andy & Karen
Wheller
Only 6 units out on this rally 1 Alvis , 2 Coventry morris and 3 from Leyland.
The weather started of great everyone arrived safely and in sunshine Saul and
Karen from Coventry arrived on the back of a tow truck but glad to say there car
was soon fixed and not as bad as first thought. Sunday and the rain came infact
it never stopped for 24 hours solid so we all went in the club at night to enjoy
the entertainment and meet Dino the resident dinosaur this was mainly for the
kids but as you'll see from the pictures even the adults took a shine to him
especially Ken and Eric from Leyland
Weather improved Monday and Tuesday took a few walks over the cliffs into Bude
this was a lovely walk for everyone some of the others took advantage of the
surf and of course there was the Pool on site for all to enjoy. Entertainment in
the club at night for kids then adults nightly bingo something for everyone all
was going well then came Wednesday and the rain came back with vengeance we
thought it would be a good idea to go on a steam train 10 min journey costing
」25 when we arrived nothing there just wet muddy and miserable not the best
idea. Arriving back at site it was a river running through the caravans 3 of
ours had to be moved and did so without a problem no moaning everyone just got
on with it and made the best of a bad job. The pictures show this and Diane and
Eric had to put sandbags round there awning. The weather did improve but the mud
didn't we still all had a great time Joseph won VIP tickets to the Big Sheep in a
competition were the kids had to bring things back from us the first back got
the point then the points added up at the end the most won he also won tickets
to the milky way adventure park on a different day a big thanks to everyone who
helped we had a good 2 days out Sean and Julie were great and Sean definitely
gave him the winning item one night and Julie well what can I say even removed
her Bra what a good laugh we had even the Pyes from Leyland ended up with no
socks and shirts on things people will do. They even had the disco and Ken,
Eric, Daniel and Robyn created a new dance based on setting up the caravan good
efforts guys. Coffee evening the rain had come back but did stop in time
competitions were won by Reia Henry from Coventry 7-12 Daniel Pye teens and the
adults Julie Alvis. We had a weekly bingo that Eric from Leyland won on day 7
but only realised on day 9 typical Wiganer. We did a game of Bingo for a bottle
of wine, as you'l see Gavin from Coventry won this problem is he is under age
well done anyway. Yeh and thanks to everyone for encouraging our kids to splash
in the puddles every one thought it was funny and the kids had a blast. Weather
did improve again and some did get sunburnt all in all everyone had a rally good
time even with the weather the members made it a great holiday a big thanks to
you all for coming and joining in the fun a great bunch of people making it
great. Had to go home Saturday in lovely weather typical and we did have a few
traffic problems it took us 9.5 hours to Leyland and Julie and Sean 7 hours to
Coventry nightmare. Thanks again hope to see you all again sometime.

'FROG RALLY' 10th-12th July- Edisford Bridge Farm, Clitheroe.
This rally was ran by Sue and Nick Parkes assisted by their grandaughter Lauren, we had 13 vans attend and the weather again was beauitiful, the views outstanding, such a lovely area.
|
|
Rally
Marshalls Nick, Sue and Lauren On arrival people were given a name of a pub and had to draw a drawing describing it, then put the picture in caravan window for people to go round and guess the pubs name, very good and it got people going round talking to all their neighbours. Also we were given a treasure hunt to do, everyone enjoyed that, the weather was ideal for walking around looking for clues Friday evening we went into the party tents, we had a picture quiz and then a general knowledge quiz, Steve's team won that. Sue went round with a toffee jar asking us to guess how many sweets where in the jar? Hope we win haven't brought any sweets with us this rally! Saturday most people set off on the treasure hunt took them a nice walk down by the river and a little climb up an hill, and then they'd to fill in all the answers to the treasure hunt - just a pity people where sitting on the bench that people had to get the clues from. - all awaiting in anticipation for the frogs to come out for 'Frog racing' at 7.30pm. Alan thought you had to come as a frog
|
|
|
Could
it be his lucky hat? 7.30pm came and everyone was waiting for the arrival of the frogs, everyone had a turn at trying to entice the frogs from one end to the other, and we all had a bet., the eventual winner was you'll never guess ALAN - so it was his lucky hat, and closely followed by James.
|
|

|
|
|
|
|
At approx 9pm it started to rain but well its time the frogs had a play time,
so we all went into the party tents. Sue had made a hot pot, which everyone
enjoyed, and then we had a game men virsus women 'Pea in a bottle', good game,
Katrina was so good, so got it everytime. The rain was pelting down and the
joins in the party tents started leaking, where the two tents go together.

|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Sunday morning and the weather was fine again it had rained all night just hopeing the weather will stay dry to dry the party tents. Coffee morning and Sue had made cakes for coffee ( can't wait for my birthday He!He!) The competitions prizes were given out to - 0-6yrs Katie for a lovely colouring, Lauren for as many things to fit into a matchbox '90', and the teenagers Katrina. The guess the names of the pubs was won by Alan and Ann. How many sweets in a jar James (oh it wasn't me)Treasure Hunt was won by Karl and Mel. Frog Racing children - Lauren and adults Alan. A thoughly entertaining week-end with all our friends, and thanks to Sue and Nick and Lauren for making it so. |

in the area. Friday evening most of the members met up in the barn for a get -together, and a natter. Saturday evening all the members met up in the barn for our social,, we had a team game , we where put into 6 groups and each member had to do a task, all things that are quite easy when you DON'T have to do them, but not so easy when you do. Ever tried walking with a book on your head with everyone making comments!

Well just back from a great week at Flamingoland, well actually 9 days, Graham and Ruth helped Tony and I run the rally, and everything was smashing, nice to see old friends again even if i can't remember all their names. The weather was lovely, we all came back sun burnt, is'nt everything great when the weathers nice!
We had visitors coming Friday, Saturday, Monday and Tuesday, so by Tuesday afternoon we where free to roam the park. This year we actually went on some rides, Tony and Graham more than us, The cable cars and mono rail, and the santa fe train are all fine for seeing all around the park., the Zoo was just as amazing as it was last year. The shows that are going on in the day are fantastic, the Bongo Warriors are a site to see, what they can do - acrobats, dancing jumping, juggling Great!!!!, then we went to see the Sea Lions, then the Bird Show and we even went to watch The Postman Pat, how sad is that, but we enjoyed it and even joined in with the singing. You can get anything at all to eat their and the restaurants are really good value., nothing has been forgotten about with Flamingoland.
Tuesday Evening we had our social quite a lot came to join us, we had a quiz bingo game and a raffle, it had started getting windy and cold, so we didn't bother with Play Your Cards Right, thanks to all that came! We also had a daily bingo going, with all the members coming each morning to see if they had won.
Wednesday evening Tony went round to see if anyone wanted the bonus ball, we didn't have enough numbers everyone wanted some, the number was '40' Tracy Davis won £49, good pick-up for her. Thursday morning came and we had a winner for the daily Bingo, it was Mrs Lane she got £46, you've got to be in it to win it.
One of our members Paul Day had a slight accident he fell down the kirb and twisted his ankle, he had to go to the hospital and be checked over but was soon back again, hope your well Paul, our best wishes to you and your family.
The weather was really warm and the Longbridge section of the rally made a water slide for the kids they had a whale of a time, as you can see.

Littleborough Sports Club, Hollingworth Lake - May 1st-4th
A welcome back to this lovely site, and the rally was being run by 'The Kirkham Family', and i think they brought all their family with them.
We had a quiet evening in the social club Friday Evening, catching up with friends and chatting.
Saturday Evening we had lots of' 'groupies' for the celebrated group 'THE KIRKY'S', they played 2 sessions what a change to be able to understand and join in with the songs, and even know the words. Very well done! a good group. Later we played 'Play your Cards Right', we had 5 games and no-one got past the first line so it was to be carried on the next night, we where carrying on £82, so its worth winning. Then later in the evening DJ Graham took over.
Sunday Evening in the club What No 'KIRKY'S', well they want a rest and enjoy theirselves, still we have DJ Graham - with his regular music.. We had musical bumps, and musical chairs for the children, and a picture quiz with a 40 question quiz for the adults. Kay's team won the prize a nice bottle of wine. We played Play your Cards Right again and Gerald won £150, bet all their table was glad he shared it with them - good for you Gerald.. We had a birthday it was one of our vistors so we all sang 'Happy Bithday' to him, bet its a long time since all his pals sang to him. Later in the evening we played the bottle game Leyland verses visitors , Leyland won of course ( but we have had more practice), then on with the dancing with DJ Graham until late.
Monday morning the rally's over time for coffee morning, raffle and then to get ready to go home.
We said our good-byes to our visitors, Coventry Morris, and Jaguars and hope to see them again, I'm sure we will, they are most of Steve and Joanne's family. The competition's 0-6 was won by Aiden Wheller, 7-12 was won by Lauren Corless, and the teenagers jointly by Adam Heyas and Ben Sandy. The adults competition was won by Alan and Ann Simms with all the right answers. WELL DONE! Then on with the raffle, we said our good-byes and wished everyone a safe journey home.

We had a concession of buy one get one free into the gardens which where really nice all different, vegetable gardens, herb gardens, rose gardens, tree lined avenues, water falls, vinery's, scent gardens every gardeners dream. They had a Wedding on so we could'nt go into the house, but many stars have been married there. and twice Coronation Street have had weddings there. We had a stop at the coffee shop for ice-cream and then off again into the woods to explore, and found a chapel to visit, pic-nic area and play area, really nice afternoon the weather was perfect..

walking distance of Ribchester. We had the Hall Friday and Saturday night and we where all on electric which is a bonus these days. Friday evening we had a quiz, bingo and some dancing. Saturday most people went out for the day and then back in the evening for the social. Saturday evening we had another quiz, play your cards right which Janet won and a new game to us, the number's game, its only any good if you don't forget your number, it was Men virus the Women - I think it was a draw in the end, then on with the dancing, the children had some games musical chairs, the youngest ones seem to be the best at it, Kieran and Joseph are getting dab hands at beating us all to the seats, and little Sophia seemed to cotton on very quickly how to beat us , by running in between the chairs oh! bless! all to bed exhausted. The children enjoyed the site as there is is plenty of room for them to play, and enjoy the surrounding area

March 6th -8th -- Riverside, Southport
20 vans attended the rally at Riverside, there was 23 booked on, but 3 had to cancel due to commitments, and one stopped only one night but what a good turn out - I hope its the way to go. The campsite is in easy reach of Southport so most people went into Southport to do some shopping. We had a visitor from Wolsely and a new member joined us with his children. SORRYY about the electric keep going off and on but it was'nt our fault, but i don't think it spoilt anyones stay. The club has good entertainment on with 2 rooms, the childrens room was'nt opened but don't worry next year it will be, we are going there a little later in the year so it should be warmer, and with full entertainment.
We had a quiz this week-end, 4 people got 19 out of 20 so someone had to pick a winner - the winner was Julie, the teenagers quiz was won by Maria and Amber, and the childrens comp was a colouring contest all did really well so could'nt just pick one so had to have a draw, and Aiden won, all the kiddies got a chocolate bar as consolation
We did the bonus ball number draw it was '35' and Graham won, also Graham won on the bingo Saturday Night so turned into a good week-end for him.
It was rather cold on Sunday., as you can see by the pics,

We played Family Fortunes, men against woman, we sounded just like
schoolchildren all the shouting saying they are cheating, were not! the men won
and where given love hearts. Next we played a bingo game/noughts and crosses
that was different, John won that game and came round with the chocolates he'd
won. The children played hide and seek with a cup and looked everywhere for it,
but never looked up. Later we had our supper made for us by 'Jackie', jacket
potatoes and Chilli, that went down very well. The evening was drawing to a
close a good time had been had by all, and all us cinderellas had to get home,
good job not far away. Sunday morning and coffee morning still another nice day don't know what we've done to deserve it - good weather 3 days! after raffle, and quiz answers - Steve and Joanne won the couples pictures ( know you now who reads all those celebs mags), and Katy, Faye, and Adam the colouring comp. Time for people to book on the coming rallies, there's some good ones to come. Time to say good-bye and see you all next rally. Sheila
