Christmas Rally - St Micheals 28th-30th November.
Just home from a very cold in fact freezing rally but that did'nt matter because it was our yearly Christmas Party, first of all I'd like you to read a email I have received from one of our members., another good review has just come in.
Friday Night we had free bingo, and a get together and
music.
Well all the hard work has been worth it, and see what you've missed, we had
22 children to the party, and about 8 teenagers and they all had a good
time. DJ Graham had them entertained with fun and games, pass the parcel,
ballooon game, smartie game, card game the list goes on, I bet they all
slept well Saturday night with all the running about and the excitement of
our visitor 'Father Christmas' Our entertainer did'nt turn up ( good job we
had'nt paid him before he came) BUT the weather was bad so he may have been
stuck somewhere in traffic BUT he could have rang and explained I will be
going to see them Monday Morning to complain, but it did'nt seem to bother
the children.
After all the games the children sat down to their tea, sandwiches, biscuits, cakes, fruit, garlic brad, sausage rolls, crisps jelly and icecream, then it was time for our visitor Father Christmas, we had quite a few younger children and not one cried when they saw him.
What a big boy on Father Christmas'es knee
Saturday evening the committee started the evening service with carols, and
ended with the 12 days of Christmas, this always goes down
We then got on with the evening entertainment, we had a quiz from Roy, music and 'play your cards right' and a supper which went down well. the committee would like to thank everyone who came to the rally, and thanks also for all your help, without you we could'nt do it!
'
Sunday morning and its time to say MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE and see you at the NEW YEAR
This is what we woke up to on Sunday. -- Brrrrr

WINSFORD, CHESHIRE - 21-23rd November 2008
We had 6 members on this rally and it was run by John, Sandra and Tom with help from Nancy and Gerald, and they did a very good job seeing that it was their first rally they've run. It was very cold and wet BUT that did'nt bother anyone we had a lovely time, the venue was nice and the Owl's are very interesting. We had the snug for both nights so it was nice to get together, Friday just a meet and greet night we'd all plenty to talk about, and Saturday Night we had Bingo and Catchphrase and a quiz. John had brought his laptop so a disc did the Bingo calling and also Catchphrase was a disc, very entertaining, you hav'nt much time to get the phrase, we where split into 2 teams, red and Blue, I think it was level pegging most of the night, anyway both teams ended up with a box of sweets.
The competition for the adults was to guess who the youngsters were, my how people have changed, needless to say we did'nt win Steve and Joanne DID, (mind you they are nearer there age) thats my excuse! The childrens colouring was won by our 3 little members, Ellie, Katie and Faye. Tom did a good job of selling raffle tickets, we might be able to rope him in and do it again sometime.
This is a lovely venue its all been refurbished, In warmer weather and it would be lovely as there is plenty of nice shopping centre's around that area, and a lovely field and not too far to walk to the local pub for lunch or to have a drink, will have to remember for 2010.
Hope everyone got home safely, we arrived home just in time to get absolutely soaking, and wind blown when we emptied our caravan, anyway thats part of rallying, see you all soon - DON'T FORGET Christmas Party NEXT WEEK. Sheila
LANCASTER 7-9th November 2008
Graham and Ruth ran the rally at Lancaster Cricket Club and 11 vans ventured out to attend. This really is a good place to see all the fireworks that are set off from the Castle.
Friday evening most of us went into the club just for a get together, and a natter and catch up with friends had'nt seen for a few weeks. Saturday most people walked into Lancaster for a bit of shopping, it is just round the corner so the venue is handy. Evening time and we all went into the clubhouse, a lot of the local people came to watch the fireworks from the club and the club put on hot dogs and steak tea-cakes, our members where in the back room all cosy as by now it was raining and rather cold. Graham gave us a picture quiz and 30 question quiz which we all enjoyed, John,Sandra,Karl and Mel won that one, our team was only 1 point behind, so our time will come.!!
Sunday Morning - Coffee Morning after a really windy night and the hell stones were really icy a sign bad weather to come, so we had it on the veranda at the club as it was'nt as cold there, Andy our Chairman called up for coffee, and to remind everyone the Childrens Christmas Party, its early this year and we need Childrens Names and Ages so Father Christmas can decide what to get for them.
The 0-6 competition was won by sisters Katie and Faye, and the teenagers's one was won by Becky and Laura, the adults competition was won by Axel and Annette. Hope to see you all at the next rally, Elm Cottage, Winsford. Sheila

MORECAMBE -26-28th August 2008
Home again from a lovely rally the weather could'nt have been better, pity it has'nt been like this all summer. Steve and Julie ran the the rally by them selves, Bob and Christine could'nt make it through family commitments.
Who's
going to start first?
We had 24 units on the rally it was a good turn out for this time of the year, the venue is ideal to walk or ride into Morecambe, and the full facility site is OK as well.,with club on site with entertainment. We had 2 birthdays this week Margaret our 2nd eldest member and Martha, who had everyone in the club singing to her ,'Happy Birthday'. The adults competition was won by the Gillet family, I did'nt dare send my comp in as I could only answer 4 questions, too hard for me!, and childrens comp was won by Lauren and Ben Savage, they've enough sweets to last for a month now. Margaret our Birthday Girl won the bonus ball, so she went home £49 better off.
Hope everyone enjoyed rally I'm sure they did and don't forget AGM on Friday 3rd October, its your club so come and air your views, and maybe you'll feel like running a rally - there's help available you've only to ask. See you all Friday. Sheila

SALTERFORTH - 22nd-25th August 2008
Home again I think we are going to sleep for a week - tiring but well worth it. The field was a little boggy but what can you expect with all this rain, we had 19 vans altogether on the rally oh! 17 vans and 2 tents.
Friday evening we had a couple of quizzes, music and parched peas for supper and nice get together and catch up and have a natter, as you can see by the pictures weather was dry and not a bit cold - oh spoke too soon it was very cold at night.
Saturday quite a few people went out shopping to Boundry Mill, Colne, Skipton, Barnoldswick all not so far away, then back in the evening for the marque entertainment - Music, Bingo ( Tony's hopeing for a job at Gala after his experience this week-end) Goodness knows how they would cope with him, I only just, never a dull moment. Bet helped me with the supper again, sandwiches all around.
Sunday was 'Beach Party Day'
You can tell how hot it was - just look at Alan and Ann, Alan got burnt, Ruth did'nt want to get lost so had her bright pink socks on, and we had the Hawaiian girls with us, the afternoon was glorious. We all sat round round and watch people play Aunt Sally, oh yes the ladies WON - beat the men.
The sun was out so out came the paddling pool, what fun the children had, Tony could'nt fill it fast enough, the children where getting a little slutchy so Tony put bubbles in as well, then Nick and Wayne made a slide for the children out of plastic sheeting, then they were very muddy and dirty, Tony brought the watering can and sponge and hosed the children down - what fun they had.
We had a bit of a bring and buy on not many people had things but thanks to the people who had, we where just trying something different
Alyesha,
Becky and Laura
Sunday evening no quizzes or bingo just get together and a sing along to 2 Abba's songs and a listen to music, the teenagers even managed a few dances in the tent, and for supper Hot Dogs and onions, they went down well, it does help when you've a Asda down the road for fresh fingers and a few helpers - namely Bet and Jim. We had a birthday to-day Kath, and it was her and Alan's 45th Wedding Anniversary, someone deserves a medal!
Monday came and coffee morning, the childrens colouring comp was won by Joseph, under 12 was won by Alyesha, and teenagers was won by Becky, what a lot of words she made from 'Salterforth'. The adults quiz was won by their mum -Janet well done all of you.

Also Monday it was Melissa's birthday she was sweet sixteen so we all sang Happy Birthday to her, on this rally we also had our eldest members there George and Margaret
Thanks to Damian for coming and helping erecting marque on Friday and collecting Marque Monday, we had so much stuff we needed a van to fetch the rest. See you all soon. Sheila
ST.MICHAELS - SPORTS RALLY - 27th - 29th June 2008
Enjoying
the puddles, rather wet Friday.
Home again from our Sports Rally, good attendance 24 vans on rally and 2 had to cancel, plenty of children to do the sports and enjoy our sports day. We had the barn Friday night and played ' Play your cards right ', no-one won so it was carried over to Saturday, games for the children, dancing and a general get together, and just hoped it was'nt raining in the morning for sports.
Saturday came and the weather was fine, even quite warm, and everyone got into the spirit of the games, running, egg and spoon, 3 legged race, mini marathon, welly wanging and obstacle race, everyone seemed to join in and enjoyed every minute. Sorry too many to mention who won what but congratulations to you all and come again next year. Quite a few of the children won more than one medal , and could'nt wait to go home and tell mums and dads, nanna's and grandad's.
Marathon
Winner Ian
Evening entertainment started at 7.30 and all the children could'nt wait for their medals and certificates, 70 where given out, well done to all that entered.
. The games started for the children, then Kay did a quiz which consisted of 30 questions good job someone on our table knew who the pictures where of, then general knowledge. Then we commenced with ' Play your cards right ', quite a few got up but no go, Olivia nearly got there, then there was only one card to turn and Alan Sims number was called he won over £140 pounds, sorry can't remember exactly but I bet he can., Good for you Alan.
The dancing started and all the children were up , they love the movement dances, with actions, and all the small children copy the older ones. We had entertainment with our new guitarist STEVE and his resident singer ALAN, not a bad job at all seeing that Steve has only been playing since Christmas, I wonder what they will call themselves?, perhaps they will do a turn for us at Christmas or New Year,
Steve
and Alan
The evening went very well and home around mid-night. Coffee was at 11 o'clock, then on with the raffle, reminder to everyone to have a good holiday and see you all soon, and don't forget our rally at Salterforth August Bank Holiday. Sheila

WRENBURY 13-15th June 2008
Home again ,from the Cotton Arms, Wrenbury, good week-end, good weather and best of all good company. This week-end the rally was run by The Kirkham Family, Steve, Joanne Mel, Laura and Ellie and what a good job they did, this is only the 2nd rally they have run and now there's no stopping them ( I hope )
.We had 18 vans on the rally so it was a good turnout, we all had quizzies to do, and a bowling match was scheduled for Saturday afternoon which was well attended. We had a social Saturday night with a quiz, and bingo and then on with the music, which always goes down a treat with the girls.
We had our youngest member on this rally little Mia Finch, with her mum Danielle and Dad Lee, camping in their tent and i believe she slept well, so we might be seeing them again shortly, she's just a bit young for the Sports Day at only 5months but roll on next year.
The Bowling match was won by joint winners Alan Carsley and Steve Kirkham ( I think Steve had been practicing) The kiddies comp was won by Joseph - 7-12 comp was won by Alyshea (hope I've spelt it right) and the teenagers comp was won by sisters Katrina and Becky, the adults comp was won by Mick and Lee Finch.
FLAMINGOLAND May 23rd-31st.
Well what can i say, just back from Flamingoland, its the first time we've been there Tony and I, and we ran the rally with Jim and Bett. If anyone has'nt been before they are missing a really great venue. Hope everyone on the rally got home safely., and had a good time.
The weather was kind to us, fine each day with just a little wind but that did'nt stop anyone, we had members of Leyland with us, Standard Triumph, Morris Motors, Landrover, Coventry Morris, Alvis, Wolseley ,Jaguar, Swindon, Rover Cowley and Fishers a really good mix.
The area around Flamingoland is great ,Scarborough, York, Whitby, Country Houses, Eden Camp, there's lots to see, thats before Flamingoland, the value for money is good. There's Fishing, Golf, Tennis Courts, Swimming Pool with all usual amenities, and thats before the Zoo and all the amusements suitable from toddlers to oldies, the entertainment at night is great with 4 different bars and clubs, trouble there's not enough time to do everything.
Tuesday evening we where going to do a quiz night and raffle but at tea-time it started spitting so we cancelled it till Thursday, sorry not a lot attended but thanks to the people that did, anyway they had a better chance at winning raffle prizes. We asked the children to do a picture of their holidays and bring it along, the pictures where lovely but of course only one can win so it was Abbie, her picture was lovely it had everything , the logo of Flamingoland, animals, Fairgrounds, water, caravans and cars, well deserved. The adult quiz was won by Steve and Dawn Johnson , well done.
We tried to get to know a few of our visitors, and the few we met i hope we meet again. I hope Mr Harbour is keeping well, as he was'nt well on one of the rides and had to be brought back to their motorhome.
Well Saturday came far too soon for us - hope to see you all again.
SHEILA
LOWTHER HILL. BENTHAM May 2nd to 5th 2008
This rally was run by the Wheller family, Graham, Ruth, Andy, Karen and the boys, we had 16 vans on the rally, and the views don't get much better than this one, we had use of the barn for 3 nights so we had socials with dancing , quizzes, games, bingo and play your cards right.. Izzy the lady that runs Lowther Hill Farm joined us each evening quite a character, very much like Peggy from Heartbeat., she even brought her cat in to see us ' Lady Diana', its as big as a medium dog.
Play your cards right was played Saturday night and not won, so it was rolled over to Sunday, much excitement when it went over £90, quite a few had a opportunity but always the cards won, then it was Karen's turn an calmly won the the lot, Karen was shareing with Kay and Mel, thats the way to do it. We had a Jacobs Join Sunday night which always goes down well, and then on with the dancing. The competitions this week-end where won by all the 0-6 year olds that entered, Melissa for the teenagers, and Kay and John for the adults, Did they have inside information?, well it is a bit of fun after all and it uses a few brain cells up. Sunday evening the heavans opened boy did it rain good job we had a barn and not a tent at least we where dry. Sunday evening we all sang Happy Birthday to our Chairman, he seemed quite embarassed, but his children loved it. We also had our eldest members on the rally George and Margaret, and they had a good time, Monday of course the day to come home and the weather was beautiful, and it looks to continue for the week, hope everyone not on rally had a nice week-end. Sheila.
SIDDINGTON. 18th-20th April.2008
Siddington Village Hall is a lovely hall and in a nice area, it would have been even nicer if the weather had been a little warmer and less windy, still we can't have it all.
What a good turnout, we had 21 vans Tony and I ran the rally this time. We managed to have the hall Friday night it was just a get together and a natter and that we did, it nice to catch up with friends you have'nt seen for a while, had quite a few birthdays this week and our eldest member George Birkin was 84 years old and still rallying, the committee thought it was about time to give him life membership, he was very pleased and gave a nice speech.
Saturday I think most people went shopping i know i did, sorry to hear about little Ellie being ill ,then her father had to take her home with her mum, get better soon Ellie, then in the Hall about 8 p.m.
Graham had the music playing all the childrens favourite tunes so they could have a dance, then they played pass the parcel, and the 10p game, lucky Ben won the 10p's, we had bingo and a quiz. Earlier in the day Tony had been selling bonus ball numbers, whilst we where playing bingo he said he had one ball left, who wants it? John was first to say, they only arrived Saturday lunch-time and Tony had told them there was only one left then so he was asked if he was sure he wanted it? it was number 50, he duly paid and wrote his name, what a fool he felt when he realised it only went up to 49, good on you John taking it in good faith, i say get your own back on Tony. Following bingo we had a quiz, how hard work one side of the room hears you, the other side don't ,you keep repeating then you've to go back over the last few questions, Graham deserves a medal, it must come naturally to him, then on with the dancing and we even had a few barn dances, then back to the regular dance music that all the teenagers love, it was mid-night when we came out, really good night.
Sunday morning, just started to rain so had coffee morning in the hall, many thanks to the people who donated prizes, is'nt it funny how people can win 2 or 3 times and others don't win once. The week-end quiz was won by Alan and Ann, the teenagers Jonny, no it was'nt a fix, childrens was won by Lauren, and the kiddies was won by Kieran, its such a same all the kiddies pictures where great , but only one can win. Martha was also pleased she won the bonus ball - what a shame John, better luck next time Ha Ha!, then everyone was off home, hope everyone had a safe journey home and hope to see them again soon.
EASTER RALLY 20th - 24th March 2008.
Was cancelled through lack of support - Hope everyone had a nice Easter, hope to see you in the coming months.
Riverside -Southport. 7-9th March
Well just home from a blustery week-end but the weather doesn't stop us. The rally was run this week-end by Bob and Christine, Julie and Steve, 17 vans in total joined in the fun, it was a full facility site, with entertainment in about 4 different rooms. The children's room was dancing and games with their own little bar with cheap drinks and sweets it makes a change not to be ripped off for children's things, obviously the campsite owners have their own children and know what is required to keep your children happy, the lounge was more quiet with entertainer on, the front room line dancing? western style they even had the trilogy at the end, fancy Wild Bill Hickup coming all the way to Southport, and all his Mexican friends, well if you can't beat them join them, our members will try anything once. There's also a night club for the young at heart. Most members went into Southport to do their shopping, then back for night out.
The quiz this week-end kept us busy, guessing the names of Towns and Cities by the drawings and diagrams, we didn't win but Steve DID - glad to see you all again, their first rally this year. The children's competition was won by them all - how can you single one out when they all where so good, they had to design a Easter Card or something to do with Easter, very well done, the marshalls decided they all deserved a prize so they all got a Easter Egg. Many thanks for the Marshalls for all their running about this week-end, as we all needed passes to get into and out of the place so someone ( namely Steve was on the look out for us all arriving and had to run and open the gate for us, good job he's training for the marathon), glad someone is fit.
.Winmarleigh Rally - 22-24th 2008
The rally this week-end was run by the 'Wheller's ' Graham, Ruth, Andy, Karen and the children, 7 vans and 1 motor caravan it was quite cosy and everyone got to know each other. We had a new members on the rally Nick and Sue, hope they enjoyed and can come again, and we had a birthday , Sandra said she was 21 who she's kidding when her daughter is 15 years old, Best Wishes Sandra from us all.
It was free and easy Friday night, and Saturday we had a social in the village hall, very good hall. First of all we had a bit of music, then a quiz which Vinnie and Family won, a few games for the children, then the big children had to make a paper aeroplane and fly it as far as it would go, John won that competition, I think it was his long arms! After we had a game of bingo or should I say 3 games ,we had it with playing cards as there was only a few of us. First game was won by Vinnie, second game by Jim and the third Karen ( Vinnies daughter )can't be a fix, can it, a good night was had by all.
Sunday morning and coffee, competitions were won by Ben and Lauren ( Vinnie's grandchildren) bet they where glad they came on rally, Nanna also won on raffle, teenagers was won by Tom, and the adults - QUESS WHO? Vinnie, he won a bottle of wine and donated it back to the club , good on you Vinnie, if you don't enter you've no chance of winning. Another good rally to a close - hope to see everyone again next rally at Riverside, Southport run by Christine and Bob Platt tel numbers in the rally book.

Skipton Rally - 25th January 2008
Well 16 vans came out this week-end ,what a good start to the year, I hope we keep it up.
John and Alwyn ran the rally , and gave us all pictures to put in our windows we had to guess which Towns they were, that made us all go out and walk around, and while we where doing it, had a natter with friends, good idea. Friday night was free and easy, time to catch up with friends, and on Saturday people went walking into Skipton for the non walkers the car came in handy, namely me. There was a auction on Saturday, quite interesting to see all the different chickens and ducks they had for sale, and all the junk that all the farmers have, funny my husband did'nt buy anything .
Saturday evening we had a social, with games, and we where all put into teams , some of us older members came in handy for our knowledge of older music for the quizzes, and straws and thimbles came in handy for another game, I liked the Pictionary, but I'm no good at drawing, The children had been catered for they had a film to watch, so they where entertained, good evening enjoyed by all.
Sunday morning and coffee, the children had to draw pictures, so hard to pick one, but 2 won, Katy and Faye. Over 5's , 3 children entered Chris, Ben and Lauren the winner was Chris. The adults was won by Mick and Margaret, and John and Kay, ( Funny Chris just happened to pick his mothers out, most had the same amount of answers right ,so had to pick two out) We had new members on rally they had come with their son who has been a member a long time hope they enjoyed themselves, and will come along again..The weather had been kind to us this week-end and just a bit blustery,
That's all for now. Sheila
New Years Rally - 29th - 1st January
The fun started from Saturday we had use of the village hall all the time, for making brews - teas -breakfast, playing cards, games etc.. evening time came - let the dancing and games commence, we had Play your Cards Right, none could get past the bottom line so it was to be carried over to Sunday Night, evenings music was done by the teenagers, and some a little younger what a good job they did, they even remembered some older music for us oldies we enjoyed ourselves and so did they. good on you children Thanks! The food that evening was done by Andrea and Dave, Les and Martha - hot dogs with loads of onions, that went down well as you can imagine, its good fairly new members have joined in and helped out that's what makes it a friendly club, the dancing went on till after midnight everyone was having too much fun to go home, when its only outside, does it matter!. Sunday, at one Alan and Ann did some ball games for the children and at 3 o'clock we had a Dog Race, that's a DVD with the races on, we all sat like we where at the cinema and placed our bets what a noise we all got carried away, you'd of thought we where really there, Mickey was pleased he paid a £1 to place his bet as he won £17, he'll probably spend it all in one go , its so easy when there's always something they want. Fancy dress to-night what a good turn out we had Nurses, Angels, Fairies, Ballet Dancers, Alli G, Zorro, Wonder Woman, Dorothy ( from the wizard of Oz) Scots Men (2) 3 snowmen ( ladies) convict, Indian sqauw, gangster, schoolgirl, gangster and Mol, oh, i forgot we had the naked chef, good heavens what a site, but its a laugh after all, and the bay city rollers made an appearance, that's if you can remember them. lots of people had Funny Hats on or Masks it all made a good atmosphere.
, the children looked delightful - we had pepper pig, cowboy, fairy, power ranger, spider man, and indian they all looked as if they should have been in a film. Ooooooooo. We played Play your Cards right again, and again it was hard getting up to the next line, we carried it over to New Years Eve, over £132 in the kitty. Graham did the music , and Alan and Ann did Mr and Mrs - what a laugh we found out lots about certain people - i wonder who only likes black indies ? and who always washes their car? Supper that evening was done by Bet and Jim- Bets Hotpot she's well known for it ,good job I didn't have any tea - lovely went down very well, the music went on again till late wait till to-morrow. Well - New Years Eve, Dominoes started at 1 o'clock, sorry Sandra couldn't be there to do it, ( get well soon - Sandra ) quite a lot joined in some children as well, the game is for young or old and enjoyed by us all, we had a winner with the most points , BUT we had to count up about 3 times before we believed it, it was Jim, would you believe it, i think I'm turning into Victor Meldew, the booby prize went to Kath with the least points, the children's prize went to Becky, i think it was the first time she'd played, luck must have been with her. Tea was served straight after by Dave, Les and helpers, meat potato pie, peas and gravy lovely, and cups of tea and coffee where still being supplied all the time, must have had 6 drinks in the afternoon, got to use halls toilet before we fill ours up, always seems to be full in the night. Set the tables for evenings entertainment, couldn't see tablecloth because we had so much stuff on the tables, blowers, silly string, crackers, poppers candles, flower arrangements - where are we going to put our drink? back to the van to get changed dress up night - Evening started 8 o'clock loads of games , the Bus game, bottle game, a new one for lots, marshmallow game 4 stooges where called out, Sandra -Geoff - Carol and Roy what surprise they had they had to put a marshmallow in their mouth and say a saying then have another, ever tried it ? good game - but be prepared for a bit of a mess, Carol won the round she managed 13 marshmallows in her mouth, what good sports they where. Then they had the Fat Frog game, so much fun we had, then it was down to our supper, Jacobs Join, what a spread we had everything, even a chocolate fountain with dare i say marshmallows, oranges, pineapple, nuts and strawberries, then a drinks fountain that lit up both these where supplied by our members for other people to use and enjoy, spoilt for choice for quiches, garlic bread, sandwiches cakes biscuits nibbles, pies , satay, dips etc to many things to remember.. Then on with the fun loads of dancing, then time for the Final Play your Cards right, everyone was excited we had £230 in the kitty, the first number to be called was Karens and she went from the bottom straight to the top, WON £230, there table was very happy they were sharing with Karl and Mel, Kay and John, good on you. then it was really a good night for them. We had visitors later on, my daughter, Lisa and her family they came to bring in the New Year with us all, they couldn't come earlier so nice to see them then. ( if anyone would ever like too just visit instead of coming to stay on a rally we only charge a small amount for the night ) Midnight came and we all wished each other Happy New Year and Best Wishes and good health to them all, just wished everyone could be as happy all the time. Well Monday morning clean up time what a good job the fairies had been in, I do believe in fairy's after all, the. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FAIRIES and time to get ready to go home, coffee was at 12 o'clock had raffle said our goodbyes and home we came, hope everyone enjoyed it as much as us, if so then it was all worth it.
