BILSBORROW 7-9th December
Well what a start to the rally, wet and windy but does it matter! once the caravans warm its home from home. We had 22 vans on the rally, Graham did prize bingo FREE, the adults were in the snug in the village hall, the children had the run of the hall to try and tire them out, did it work? Saturday was a busy day for committee, but with all the help we had we made it light work many thanks to all who helped. The Children's Party started at 2pm with Graham doing games and pass the parcel and at 3 o'clock the entertainer started 'Missy Magic' was her name the children don't know how lucky they where to get her. ( A lady came into the kitchens asking where The Memorial Hall was, I said didn't know but try down the road near the church, just as she left Julie said I wonder how much she charges der......it dawned on me it must have been our entertainer, I had to chaise after her and only just caught her) one black mark against me. The children loved her she did magic tricks, puzzles and she had puppets. The snow machine of hers was a great hit and also the balloon modelling she made dogs, flowers, hats and swords for the children as well as giving other little gifts. Then it was time to eat you could hear a pin drop, they were already for food and drink, then on with the the best visitor of the year 'Father Christmas' Thanks for the help for tidying up after the party. Back into the hall for the Adults Christmas Party at 7-30pm it started with the committee and members singing Christmas Carols, and ending with The Twelve Days of Christmas, that's getting a favourite one, it gets everyone singing and standing trying to be the loudest, WELL it worked the people across the road heard you and booked you for next year...so you've got to come again. The evening just got better we had a quiz, Play your Cards Right, Janet won a amazing £73, that will come in handy, Lots of dancing, Barn Dancing and the dances the children like, the smell at about 9-30 just made you hungry, Julie had put the oven on and cooked Garlic/cheese bread, and then supper was ready, she'd set it all out, the preparation had been done before evening entertainment, thanks to all who helped ,many hands make light work The food soon disappeared, then everyone got on with having fun, a really good night with all our friends. We had to clean up before we left at night, as we had been informed there was a bird show on Sunday Morning, but they didn't actually turn up because of the bird flu - good job really it would have been difficult to get off. Sunday Morning Coffee and Raffle, the raffle was all wrapped up as a present so you didn't know what you where getting, surprise - surprise. We had a meeting about New Year Rally with all the people who are coming on the rally, a few booked on, hope it was because they enjoyed last nights entertainment and want more. We have lots planned you don't know what your missing - Play Your Cards Right - Domino Drive -Mr and Mrs -Quizzes - Fancy Dress - Bets Hotpot - Pie and Mushy Peas and a Jacobs Join New Years Eve, come and join us and join in the fun Anyway i wish to say MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OUR MEMBERS
Sorry if pictures bit off sides - only just learning - hope it will get better for your sakes
The pictures are the Committee doing carols, Graham our DJ, Children having fun, One lucky man with 9 ladies dancing ( thought he was lucky because he's got me ) Me and Father Christmas (just whispering in his ear what I want ), Teenagers getting ready, Joanne always wanted bigger boobs, Members trying to do the quiz, children eating their Christmas party food and our lucky lady Janet.
SOUTHPORT 23rd-25th November.
Welcome to Wet and Windy Southport the holiday town with rain appeal, but the weather doesn't bother our ralliers what's a bit of wind and rain when your all prepared for all kinds of weather our caravans are like tardis'es we are ready for anything. Seven vans went to the sea side and enjoyed them selves, plenty of shopping malls and good eating establishments, and a good time to go Christmas shopping before the rush. The adult contest was won by Sandra Kayes (She's getting quite good at these) and her daughter won the teenagers 'Jess' did she get some help! The children's contest was won by Ellie, good on you Ellie. Steve and Julie nearly had to get a divining rod to get some water, but sorted it all out before most of the vans arrived, the site seems promising for 2009 as they are opening the site up again and the club house will be open for families to enjoy, so watch this space.
LANCASTER CRICKET CLUB 2nd-4th November.
Sorry can't write very much about rally because we weren't on it, but 10 vans attended and had a good time. Quite a few went into the club Friday night, and again on Saturday. The venue is ideal to see all the fireworks from Lancaster Castle, and keep warm. Saturday most people went shopping into Lancaster just a short walk over the bridge, the shops are a delight this time of year with all the Christmas things in the shops. Graham and Ruth ran the rally and a good time again was had by all..
ORREL CRICKET CLUB 12th-14th October.
Well another good rally, we had 15 vans on the rally, it was themed 'Cowboys' We had lots of quizzes about ? cowboys .The week-end quiz was won by Alan and Kath, the teenagers by Jess and Tom and the childrens was won by Christopher. The best dressed was won by Sandra, the bar staff picked her out, I think a good time was had by all, even if Tony had to go to the toilet half way through bingo. The staff at the club put chips on for super which was very welcome, they said it was because we where good.( i think it was because we where the first ralliers they have had, and maybe want us to go back).Alan and Ann where evening visitors and came suitably dressed, also Charlotte and Adam arrived later ,nice to see visitors. The evening finished with a sing a long - my ding-a-ling which went down well, i think thy heard Sandra in Wigan, we must do this again, what good voices we've got! I only found out Sunday morning that you could get a train at the top of the road into Wigan for about £3 return, and you are in the centre of Wigan, its not worth taking the car in it would cost more in petrol and parking, something to remember for next time. Oh thought i'd just mention have booked the club again for Feb 2009, so we've got a nice warm club to go into, and a hard standing for early on in the year. I want to thank the people who came on the rally (because it was our rally), and made it a lovely week-end Thanks!

Dale Hey Farm LONGRIDGE 21-23rd September.
Well another good rally you don't know what your missing, the rally was run by marshals Graham, Ruth, John, Kay and Christopher, the site is a new one too us and I think we might be going back there in the near future, it was nice and quiet and the views great. We had the use of a barn for our entertainment, and we had a birthday this week-end one of our eldest members, Margaret, I don't think she'll mind me telling you she was 83 on Saturday, she made a lovely supper for us all, I think she had been baking for all of last week, it was very much appreciated. They continue to come as often as they can, because they enjoy the clubs hospitality and friendship. We had 12 vans arrive, and enjoy each others company. Saturday evening in the barn we had a quiz, then bingo and then supper and some of the members went on a 'ghost walk' through the woods which they thoroughly enjoyed, it would be great for Halloween. Sunday morning coffee at 11am and prize giving - I won the adults (Sheila), Jess the teenagers, Ayesha had to guess how many sweets in a jar and won, and Katy did the colouring competition and won a lovely little doll, then on with the raffle. Everyone then proceeded to get ready to go home, which wasn't far for us. This is the last rally before AGM, so don't forget to come and voice your views its your club and we need input.

WILCOX FARM, RIVINGTON 7th-9th September
The Rally was attended by 12 vans and the weather was fine. The rally was
run by Andy and Karen Wheller and their boys, the marquees was put up for Friday
night just for a get together and meet up with other ralliers and catch up on
each others travels, and reviews over each others holidays, not many
had good weather oh well its the company that counts. Saturday most people went
out shopping or went for long walks, the area is ideal lots of good
trekking areas around and the views are fantastic. We were just
behind winter hill so we all got good reception on the televisions, a good job
too because most of the men on the rally watched the England versus Israel game
in the marquees in the late afternoon, England won 3 to Israel 0, that went down
well. Our evening social started at 8.o'clock with a quiz and then bingo, music
was played and we even got a couple of dances in, before we finished at 11.p.m.
Sunday dry again we aren't use to this! coffee at 11 o'clock
followed by competition winners - Ellie - Laura- and Alan and Ann then on with
the raffle. Enjoyable rally was had by all thanks to the rally marshals.
BISHOPTHORPE YORK 24-27th August.
Just returned again from a good rally at York lots of places to visit of interest and loads of shops. The weather couldn't have been better but its about time. We had 15 on the rally with 2 visitors from Landrover, 1 from Alvis and 1 from Fisher. We had the marquee up for Saturday night entertainment with quizzes, bingo and BETS HOTPOT, that went down a treat, all the visitors really enjoyed it and wanted the recipe. Oh and my crust. We at Leyland are used to Bets hotpot, it usually made every new year and we all look forward to it. It was Kath's birthday on Saturday BEST WISHES KATH from ALL THE CLUB MEMBERS, and also it was Alan and Kath's Wedding Anniversary, I think she deserves a medal. After supper about 20 of us played the dice game it went down well the visitors hadn't seen the game before so they are going to carry on the tradition and play it on their own rallies
(Tony won all the cash at the end)
Sunday morning and Ben won the children's colouring competition, Georgina won the wordsearch, Jonny won teenagers and Charlotte and Adam won the adults quiz. We had done the Bonus Ball on Saturday i nearly died when my number came out and i won £49., because the night before Tony had won dice game and i had won about 4 games of cards (my ears aren't half burning)
CHIPPING - Chipping Bowling Club. 10-12 August.
First of all may i say we are sorry to hear about our Rally Marshall's mishap, because of a accident on his bike he wasn't able to come this week-end. Get Well soon Steve we wish you all the best, poor Julie having to wait on him, he might just get used to it, then what will you do.
Thanks very much to Mick, Margaret, Bill and Christine for stepping in at the last minute, much appreciated. We had 13 Units turn up for the rally and a visitor from Fisher Ludlow - Welcome, i think we may be seeing a bit more of them as they are working in our area, glad to see different members. We had 2 new members as well ,a big hello to Lee and Danielle Hope I've spelt your name right . Mick and Bill held a Bowling match on Saturday and quite a few joined in Alan Butcher won - Well Done Alan
The weather was lovely and views fantastic, the only rain we got was Saturday night when we were in bed i think we all can put up with that.. Mick and Bill did the week-end competition and the winner was Danielle
Well hope you've all had lovely weather wherever you've been, the next rally is at Bishopthorpe in York, so don't forget to book on with Jim and Bett.
A view of the surrounding hills. Which ones the baldest? Our chairman Andy and son Aidan.

MILL FARM Bridgwater
July... Well what can i say Tony and I picked the wrong week, rain, rain and more rain. Shouldn't complain the company more than made up for the weather. Site was smashing even better if it didn't rain (get the message), the children on the rally really enjoyed the swimming pool, we had a few braved the outside pool and the slide, the boating pool was fine as well, the ponies drew the children , and a few went riding. Needless to say we enjoyed the club the entertainment was great, first it was the children's turn for fun and dancing then there was a quiz oh! did i say we won one night, we can't be that thick after all, and then singers, comedians etc a different artist every night. Some of the ralliers stopped on the field and had there own entertainment, so a good time was had by all. Oh, maybe not Charlotte (my granddaughter and boyfriend) come in a tent, first night leaked a little, second night poured in, everything got wet, the day after her pitch looked like shanty town the tent was just covered in plastic sheets, and covers, i think B&Q did very well out of our rally, what with wellies and plastic sheets, and mats, i think we should have asked for a discount. I've been watching the weather since we came home and it seems like the second week is fine for the other ralliers we left behind. Andy, Karen, Joanne and Steve and the children did a good job of running the rally, the area around Bridgewater is lovely, and loads of shopping areas as well as lovely countryside. Hope everyone else belonging to the club has had a good holiday and feeling refreshed, its getting near to our AGM so please put your thinking caps on for new areas that we can rally in, or think about running a rally, its quite easy and if you require any help in running one just say so and one of the committee will either help you or advise. Please think about it as new ideas work wonders and a change of rally marshals brings fresh ideas to the club.
Charlotte and Adams Tent - looks like shanty town.
Greenhill Farm, Salterforth
Excellent weekend. Nice to see the youngsters playing rounder's in a "friendly" spirit. Steve Kirkham looked a bit over cooked at times .
Parched peas on Friday were first class.
Sheila and helpers entertained the youngsters with tea and disco on Saturday evening. It seemed to go down well.
Hot dogs later on were a credit to Darren's culinary skills. The bingo was, words fail me, but suffice to say that Andy W is now considered a first class caller. Well done Tony or should it be you should be.
Sunday dawned bright and clear. What about that raffle, it was a b*****y miracle. Congratulations to Sheila, Liza, Tony, Darren and DJ Jonny. A hard act to follow.
Don't forget the illuminations rally with Andy - only a few places left.
Catton Park
We had a couple of music quiz's !!! Where was Bill Whittle when he was needed. Bingo was a revelation, at least we haven't got a screwed up piece of paper for number 32 like we used to have. A bit suspicious of Andy's cough when calling the numbers reminds you of Major what's his name off Millionaire. Play your Cards Right was a disaster for the adults young Ben won the loot I think ( Jammy Midlanders) - any coincidence it was Steve and Joanne's relative !!!!
It was nice to see the youngsters cheating the adults at rounder's every day. We really should teach the youngsters the proper rules so that the oldies can win occasionally. No photos as yet but may be someone has some.
R U coming to Salterforth with Aunty Sheila ?
Alan C

A hectic weekend was had by all. We were able to welcome some visitors from the Midland clubs.
The Saturday evening group were very good with a good mixture of tunes. Shame about the rain on Sunday morning.

Some one walked away with a small fortune.
Photos to follow.
Siddington
Hi Dave just come back from rally at Siddington and had to write, so you can put on web site what a good rally it was. There were 10 vans on rally, and it was run by Bill, Christine, Mick and Margaret, who put on a fantastic rally for us, have you ever played bingo with a pack of cards we did, unusual, but interesting, we had a little dancing, bingo with playing cards and a four part quiz. guess who won? our group the 'Brincarr Group' it consisted of Tony and I, Bet and Jim they thought we would cheat so they checked up on us every 10 questions and guess what we still won,( a fluke I think.) We ended the night with the cube game that went down a treat, a lovely time was had by all, the location was ideal, the hall was lovely and the company great.
Looks like people had a good time
Christmas 2005
